Career Planning is a broader term which refers to the process of finding a suitable job based on your interest, personality, skill set etc., choosing an educational program, changing jobs within your industry or to a different one and also that helps you to climb the success ladder in your current job. Career Planning is a lifelong process so it does not mean that once you find a suitable job, it comes to an end. You still need to improve your skill set, enhance your knowledge and aim for promotion or achievements in your field.

Many of us have some type of talent hidden in ourselves. A Right career plan can help you to identify your talents and step in to your area of expertise and ultimately excel in your life. In today's competitive world and spike in unemployment rate it is essential to plan your career before you take your Graduation in College or even in School if possible. Education without a proper career planning can lead to adverse effects such as:

  4. Disinterest in working as you may not like the current job
  5. Psychological Stress which would affect your health

Teachers can possibly play a vital role in helping students towards an apt full career plan. They can use assessment tools to identify the skill sets of students.

One can also consult a career counselor who could offer advice after identifying your personality, skill sets etc. There are lots of free tools available in the internet which could help one in planning their career. Such tools include personality tests, career test, career quiz, self-assessment tools etc. These tools alone cannot help one to a proper career plan. First you should follow your mindset - what is your passion, aptitude, goal etc. Then consult with others including the tools to find a suitable career path to taste the fruit of success!
